Postcolonial perspectives in contemporary English literature

Abstract

Postcolonial literature examines the cultural, political, and psychological consequences of colonialism and its continuing influence on contemporary societies. Contemporary English literature has become an important platform for exploring identity, migration, displacement, hybridity, memory, and resistance. This paper discusses major postcolonial perspectives in modern English literature, highlighting the contributions of influential writers and the evolution of postcolonial themes. It argues that postcolonial writing challenges colonial narratives, amplifies marginalized voices, and promotes intercultural dialogue in an increasingly globalized world.
