Keywords:
Gender RepresentationAbstract
The twentieth century witnessed significant changes in the representation of gender in English fiction. Social reforms, feminist movements, world wars, and changing cultural values influenced the portrayal of women and men in literature. This paper examines how English novelists challenged traditional gender roles, explored identity, and represented evolving relationships between individuals and society. It argues that twentieth-century fiction broadened literary perspectives by presenting more diverse, complex, and realistic representations of gender.
