In addition to lowering quality of life and increasing medical care expenditures, pain is a common and complex health issue that affects millions of individuals worldwide. Medication, physical therapy, and surgery—the three mainstays of conventional pain management—each have their limitations and are not certain to provide the relief patients seek. Alternative and complementary medicine (CAM) practices, including yoga, have been more popular as a supplementary method for pain management in recent years. what is now known about yoga's efficacy as an auxiliary medical treatment for pain. Yoga is an ancient Indian mind-body discipline that incorporates asanas (postures), pranayama (breath exercises), meditation, and awareness. Asanas, or breathing exercises, are an integral part of yoga. Multiple scientific studies have demonstrated that yoga can alleviate a range of painful diseases. These include osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, persistent low back pain, and migraine headaches. The pain-relieving effects of yoga are caused by a complicated web of systems. Modulation of the nervous system, inflammation, and the stress response are all part of these processes, as are improvements in physical agility, muscular strength, posture, and self-awareness.
