Abstract

Ransomware has become one of the most damaging cyber threats affecting organizations worldwide. Attackers encrypt critical systems and demand payment for data restoration, often combining encryption with data theft. Modern ransomware exploits phishing, software vulnerabilities, compromised credentials, and supply chain attacks. This paper discusses ransomware prevention, detection, incident response, recovery strategies, implementation challenges, and future trends for strengthening cyber resilience.
