Abstract

Finding gravitational waves is one of the most important things that has happened in modern science. They allow us to study and observe the universe in new ways. Einstein prophesied in his general theory of relativity that these ripples in spacetime would be caused by huge objects moving quickly, like neutron stars, supernovae, and black holes merging. As a new era of gravitational waves astronomy started in 2015 with their direct discovery by the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, an important prediction from general relativity was proven to be true. what gravity waves are, where they come from, and how to find them. Because of this, scientists can look into things in space that would be hard to find or see without gravitational wave observations, which are a part of regular electromagnetic astronomy. Neutron star crashes and binary black hole mergers, for instance, have helped us understand how stars evolve, how matter behaves in harsh conditions, and where heavy elements came from in the universe. Gravitational waves have completely changed the way we think about the universe by giving us new ways to measure the distances between galaxies and testing basic ideas of gravity. They also make it possible to study the dynamics of spacetime and the creation of black holes with levels of accuracy that were previously unattainable.
