Abstract

Literature has long served as a mirror of society by reflecting social, political, economic, and cultural transformations. Writers document historical events, challenge injustice, and encourage critical reflection on issues such as inequality, freedom, democracy, gender, race, and human rights. This paper examines how English literature represents social and political change across different literary periods. It argues that literature not only records historical developments but also influences public opinion, inspires reform, and contributes to social awareness.
